BackSRRC (ICAR-CSWRI), Mannavanur organized a three days paid training program on broiler rabbit farming
Southern Regional Research Centre (SRRC) of ICAR-CSWRI, Mannavanur organized three days paid training program for broiler rabbit farmers on “Technological Updates in Profitable Broiler Rabbit Production” during 25-27, April 2022, wherein ten (10) farmers including four (4) women farmers from Salem, Erode and Madurai districts attended. This is the first in the training series, planned for the year 2022-23.
All the participants reached SRRC, Mannavanur on 24.04.2022 at 10 pm and the training program was inaugurated on 25.04.2022 and the event was presided by Mr. Vinay Bhagat, Manager, PNB, Mannavanur. Dr. P. Thirumurugan, Officer Incharge, SRRC, Mannavanur welcomed & oriented the trainees about the program and thanked Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, Hon’ble Director, ICAR-CSWRI for his encouragement and support. Mr. Baghat in his speech explained about the various credit facilities available at PSU banks for the benefit of the rabbit farmers. Overall the training was executed in “Hands-on” manner. All the facets of rabbit production management viz., feeding, breeding, health, shelter, marketing & other aspects of the management were updated to the trainees in the theory sessions and all the practical sessions viz., rabbit handling, restraining, sexing breeding techniques, pregnancy diagnosis, broiler rabbit slaughter techniques & primal cuts, post mortem examination, nest-box management, record keeping and drug administration were taught in Hands-on” manner.
Dr. P. N. Richard Jagatheesan, Dean, Veterinary College & Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Theni delivered an invited guest lecture about broiler rabbit management on 27.04.2022. Dr. Jagatheesan interacted well with the participants and addressed their queries related to scientific broiler rabbitry. Valedictory session of the program was held on 27.04.2022. Dr. P. Thirumurugan, Officer Incharge, SRRC, Mannavanur evaluated the participants on the knowledge update after training which was found good. He also obtained their feedback on the training program which was highly satisfactory. Dr. P. N. Richard Jagatheesan, chaired the valedictory session and delivered the presidential address. In his address, Dr. Jagatheesan appreciated the SRRC for its efforts & successful organization of the training and gave away the certificates to the trainees. Dr. S. Jegaveera Pandian, Sr. Scientist presented the training report as the coordinator of the training program. Dr. Pachaiyappan K, Scientist & Mr. G. Murali, STO, co-coordinated the training program.
