BackTribal Sub –plan (TSP) Programme at KVK, Badgaon, Udaipur (Rajasthan) 14th July 2021



In a gesture to extend ICAR - CSWRI’s helping hand to tribal farmers, one day training programme on “ Advisories on scientific sheep farming for improving livelihood and nutritional security of tribal farmers” was organized under TSP Head of Network Projects on 14th July, 2021 at KVK, Badgaon, Udaipur. A total of 40 interested tribal farmers from Gogunda block of Udaipur district had attended the training programme. Dr Ashok Kumar, Scientist coordinated the training and Dr Ashish Chopra, Sr Scientist and Shri Madan Lal, TO, ICAR-CSWRI, ARC Bikaner took over the role of joint coordinators under the supervision and guidance of Dr H K Narula, Principal Scientist & Head, ARC, Bikaner. The programme was presided over by Dr Arun Kumar Tomar, Director ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar. Shri Ajay Mehta, President, Vidhya Bhawan Society, Dr Sanjana, Director, Basic Health Services, Udaipur, Dr Deepak Jain (In-Charge KVK) and Dr P Bhatnagar (SMS, KVK) graced the programme and interacted with the tribal farmers to motivate them improve their livelihood. In his speech, Dr Arun Tomar insistend upon the adoption of scientific methods  in sheep and rabbit farming. Dr HK Narula delivered a lecture on the overall scientific management of sheep and goat. In the last part of the programme, 19 Sirohi bucks were distributed to all participant farmers in order to improve their goat flocks, thereby enhancing their income cum socio-economic status. Other inputs like durable water bottles and umbrellas were also given away to the participants.
