BackICAR-CSWRI Organised Workshop on “Pasture Establishment and Management Techniques and Plantation Methods”

 ICAR – CSWRI has organized a one day workshop on 17^th June 2021 on “Pasture Establishment and Management Techniques and Plantation Methods” in collaboration with Panchayat Samiti, Malpura for Panchayat Samiti field workers and public representatives (Sarpanch). Dr. Arun Kumar Tomar, Director, CSWRI was the Chief Guest of the occasion and Sh. Sakram Chaupra, Pradhan, Panchayat Samiti, Malpura was there as special guest. During the workshop, Dr. S. C. Sharma Principal Scientist (Agronomy) and Dr. R. P. Nagar, Incharge, WRC – IGFRI, Jhansi elaborated crucial points to establish and manage pasture especially at community grazing lands and sloppy degraded lands. Dr. Arun Tomar emphasized on generating will-power to develop barren and uncultivated lands into well-developed pasture in order to cater the forage needs of small ruminants, which are source of livelihood in dry areas. Sh. Satpal Kumawat, BDO explained different plans and programmes of State govt. for development of rangelands for forage production. Sh. Sakram Chaupra, Pradhan PS also opined that farmers should strategically develop community grazing lands without any conflict at their villages with the help of various developmental State govt. programmes. Dr. L. R. Gurjar conducted workshop programme as scheduled. At the end of workshop, participants visited Forage Demonstration Unit, Herbal Garden, Watershed and horti-pasture area.
