BackScientist-Farmers Interaction cum Krishak Vaiganik Sangosthi organized at KVK, Badgaon and Turgarh village, Phalasia, Udaipur under Tribal Sub Plan
A programme on Scientist-Farmers Interaction cum Krishak Vaiganik Sangosthi was organized on the 21-22nd Jan, 2021 at KVK, Badgaon and Turgarh village, Phalasia of Udaipur district, respectively to aware the tribal farmers of the area about scientific livestock farming to improve livelihood and nutritional security of the tribal farmers under the Tribal Sub Plan. Krishak Vaiganik Sangosthi was chaired by Dr Arun Kumar Tomar, Director, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar and coordinated by Dr. H K Narula (Principal Scientist & Head), Dr Ashish Chopra (Sr. Scientist) and Dr Ashok Kumar (Scientist & Nodal Officer, TSP) ICAR-CSWRI, ARC, Bikaner. Overall the programme were managed by Dr Deepak Jain, In-charge, KVK, Badgaon, Dr P Bhatnagar, (Sr Scientist) KVK, Badgaon.
On 21.01.2021, a total of forty (40 nos.) interested tribal farmers were present during the programme at KVK, Badgaon. Dr Arun Kumar Tomar, Director, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar graced the occasion and encouraged the tribal farmers to adopt modern techniques in sheep farming developed by ICAR-CSWRI. Honorable Director also emphasized to use sheep woolen waste as planting materials. Dr. H K Narula (Principal Scientist & Head) told the tribal farmers about the programme carried out by the ARC team in the tribal area and gave lectures on scientific sheep rearing. The programme was also graced by Dr Bhupendra Bhardwaj, Addl Director Udaipur and Nodal Officer, Tribal area and other dignitaries of Vidhya Bhawan Society, Udaipur. Dr Bhardwaj interacted with the farmers and encouraged them to accept the livestock technologies which are very helpful in enhancing livestock productivity. Dr Deepak Jain, In-charge, KVK, Badgaon, Dr P Bhatnagar, (Sr Scientist) KVK, Badgaon emphasized on role of integrated farming system in doubling the tribal farmers income. In the last part of the programme, tribal farmers were benefitted with a total of 60 elite germplasm of Chokla sheep (40 female and 20 males), registration kits, water bottle and rechargeable torch to improve their livelihood. The Chokla sheep were distributed with an objective for genetic improvement of the farmers flock for improving income and better utilization and management of resources.
On 22.01.2021, a total of sixty (60 nos.) interested tribal farmers were present during the Scientist Farmer Sangoshti programme at Turgarh village, Phalasia of Udaipur district. Dr Arun Kumar Tomar, Director, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar encouraged the tribal farmers to adopt modern techniques in sheep farming developed by ICAR-CSWRI. Honorable Director also emphasized for better utilization of the resources of the area and adopt rabbit farming in the area. Dr. H K Narula (Principal Scientist & Head) awared the tribal farmers about scientific sheep farming for better return. Dr Deepak Jain, In-charge, KVK, Badgaon, Dr P Bhatnagar, (Sr Scientist) KVK, Badgaon emphasized on role of sheep in integrated farming system in enhancing the tribal farmers nutritional and livelihood security. In the last part of the programme, 50 tribal farmers were benefitted with a chain-link fencing bundle (100), GI Sheet (200) and MS pipe (300) for making sheep shed which will be helpful in protecting the sheep from adverse climatic condition and improve overall health and productivity of the animals.
