BackDistribution of Magra and Marwari animals to sheep farmers under SCSP of Network Project



 

Two programmes of distribution of elite animals of Magra and Marwari breeds were organized at ARC, ICAR-CSWRI, Bikaner on 19.08.2020 and 20.08.2020 in the presence of honourable Director, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar.

19.08.2020: First program was held at ARC, Bikaner under the SCSP component of Marwari Network project for the SC sheep farmers of Kotda, Daiyan area in which 15 Magra ewes were distributed to bring genetic improvement and purity in their field flocks. Dr. H K Narula welcomed the Chief Guest and other guests. He explained the details of Network project and its mandate to sheep farmers. Dr. AK Shinde narrated about nutritional technologies and its importance to bring overall improvement in the flock. Dr Ajay Kumar discussed the objectives and guideline for SCSP projects with sheep farmers. Dr Raghvendar Singh, Director, CSWRI, Avikanagar cum PC, PCSB gave emphasis on potential of Magra breed and its importance in Bikaner region and also inspired the sheep farmers to come up with their needs apart form sheep rearing which may also be addressed in SCSP component. Fifteen Magra sheep were distributed to sheep farmers.  Dr Ashish Chopra coordinated the program.

20.08.2020: Second program was held at ARC, Bikaner under the SCSP component of Magra field Network project for the SC sheep farmers of Kalu area in collaboration of BAIF in which 10 Marwari ewes and 4 Marwari breeding rams were distributed to bring genetic improvement in their field flocks. Dr H K Narula narrated the details of Network project and mandates of ARC, Bikaner to sheep farmers. Dr Raghvendar Singh, Director, CSWRI, Avikanagar cum PC, PCSB discussed the importance of SCSP component and told to sheep farmer to get maximum benefit out of it. Mr Chhagan Lal, Cluster leader, BAIF, Kalu, Bikaner narrated the schemes and mandate of BAIF in their region and also showed keen interest to build future collaboration with ARC in terms of technological intervention in sheep rearing. Dr Ashish Chopra delivered vote of thanks.
