BackTwo days Training programme organized at ARC Bikaner from January 28-29, 2020



The two days training program for 30 farmers in collaboration with ATMA Project (Govt. of Rajasthan) was organized from 28-29 January 2020 at ARC Campus, ICAR-CSWRI, Bikaner. About 13 farmers from village Lakhusar, 11 farmers from Dandi and Kankrala, 4 farmers from Ghadsana and 2 farmers from village Chattergarh were participated in the training. Lectures covering different aspects of scientific sheep rearing and management such as important wool and meat breeds of sheep, breeding strategies and nutritional intervention to promote growth and production at farmer’s level were delivered to the participants. In addition to that, farmers were made aware about commonly occurring problems of reproduction and also to adopt timely vaccination schedule and health measures to protect sheep health for augmentation of sheep production. Role of mixed farming was emphasized to make the sheep farming a sustainable source of livelihood. Visit of Chokla, Magra and Marwari sector, ARC campus was made to overview the scientific way of sheep rearing. Special invitee Shree Ramesh Tambia, DDM , NABARD, Bikaner told about beneficial activity of NABARD in the area of sheep and goat rearing.  At the end of training, a quiz competition was organized and prizes were distributed to the winners for promoting their interest in training. On valedictory occasion, training Coordinator Dr. Nirmala Saini, Principal Scientist, ARC, welcomed the chief guest, special invitee and farmer participants and informed about activities undertaken in this training program. The valedictory function was presided over by Dr. Raghvendar Singh, Director, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar. He promoted the famers to adopt modern techniques in the field of sheep farming for increasing their productivity. Rearing of sheep is a profitable occupation and emphasized contribution of sheep in nourishing rural people and income. Sh Suresh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar also addressed the participants and congratulated on completion of successful training. Dr H K Narula, Head, ARC, threw a light on potential role of sheep farming in present time and delivered thanks to the chief guest, special invitee, all the employees of ARC and participants for a successful completion of training program. 25 improved feeding Manjer(kheli) and Multi nutrient mixture (16.66 q MNM) prepared from collaboration with ATMA were distributed to the farmers for demonstration of scientific feeding by Dr. Raghvendar Singh, Director, ICAR-CSWRI  & Chief Guest of the programme.
