BackCSWRI ARC, Bikaner Organized Two days Training Under ATMA Project

The two days training program for thirty (30) farmers under ATMA project (Govt. of Rajasthan) was organized from 11-12th Dec. 2019 at ARC Campus, ICAR-CSWRI Bikaner. About 20 villagers from village kotda and 10 farmers from village Goleri participated in this training program. Dr Chandan Prakash was coordinator of training programme. Dr Ashok Kumar and Sh Ghous Ali were joint coordinator. During two days programme, lectures on different aspect of scientific sheep rearing and management including sheep breeds, breeding strategies, nutritional intervention to promote growth and production were delivered to participants. In addition to that, farmers were made aware about reproduction and health related aspects to protect sheep health and augment sheep production. Role of mixed farming and dry agriculture was emphasized to make the sheep farming a sustainable source of livelihood. Farmers visited Chokla, Magra and Marwari sector, ARC campus and comprehended the scientific way of sheep rearing. In valedictory function,  Dr H K Narula, Head welcomed the Chief guest Dr P L Saroj, Director CIAH , Dr S C Mehta, OIC- EPC Bikaner and Sh Mukesh Gahlot, Assistant Director, ATMA and explained the aim of two days training and lectures delivered during training programme. Dr P L Saroj advised the farmers to adopt the latest technology in the field of Sheep husbandry to increase their income.  Dr S C Mehta encouraged the farmers for adoption of  cooperative sheep farming to ensure the remunerative prices of their products. Sh Mukesh Gahlot informed the farmers regarding different developmental schemes sponsored by ATMA for the benefit of farmers. A Quiz Competition about general awareness of sheep rearing was also organized and prizes were distributed to farmers by Chief Guest and Guest of honour for promoting their enthusiastic participation in training.
