Back 55th Foundation Day celebrated at ICAR-CSWRI, SRRC Mannavanur

For the first time in the history of SRRC, Foundation Day was celebrated on 16.11.2019. The 55^th Foundation Day of SRRC, Mannavanur was presided by  Dr G G Sonawane, Principal Scientist and Dr S L Sisodia, CTO, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar who were nominated by Hon’ble Director, CSWRI to see the ongoing research and extension activities in the Center. Mr B K Sharma, Assistant General Manager, PNB, Chennai., Dr Devesh Gour, Former OIC, SRRC and Mr M Siva Sethupathy, Manager, PNB, Mannavanur were the other dignitaries present on the dais, along with Director’s Nominees. Around 60 Farmers from Mannavanur & nearby villages and also from  Madurai, participated in the event.

                Dr A S Rajendiran, OIC, SRRC welcomed the Guests & Farmers and presented with a brief orientation towards the genesis and milestones in SRRC’s 55 years of existence. The Guests congratulated the centre, its staff and other supporting hands, on the historic day of SRRC for its immense contribution to the farming community particularly for the southern states. In his presidential address, Dr G G Sonwane, vehemently congratulated SRRC and its staff for its great achievements & assured fullest support from CSWRI Head Quarters in every future endeavour of SRRC, Mannavanur.  He also conveyed Hon’ble Director’s best wishes for the centre on the memorable Foundation Day occasion. Also in the event, guests released five pamphlets in vernacular language prepared by SRRC on various fronts of Sheep and Rabbit management and gave away best farmer awards to three successful farmers/entrepreneurs in Sheep & Rabbit farming. Dr P Thirumurugan, Sr. Sci., SRRC proposed vote of thanks.

               Prior to the main event, commemorating the Foundation Day, guests planted tree sapling in the farm premises of SRRC.
