BackICAR- CWRI, Avikanagar- Scientists & Farmers Sanghosthi On Foundation Day



 

On the occasion of 57th Foundation Day celebration of ICAR-CSWRI on 4th January, 2018, Director of the institute Dr Arun Kumar Tomar welcomed the chief guest Dr. Rameshwar Singh, Vice Chancellor,Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna along with other dignitaries  Sh. R. P. Singh, Member, Governing Body, ICAR, N. Delhi, Dr. Nagendar Sarma, Vice Chancell, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science & Technology, Srinagar as Special guests, Dr B.N. Tripathi, Director, NRCE, Hisar, Dr. R. Bhatta, Director, NIANP, Banglore and Dr Gopal Lal, Director, NRCSS, Ajmer as guests of honor. The Scientists-Farmers Interaction Meet was organized and breedable males were distributed to farmers at goat and sheep sectors during the visit. Director of the institute addressed the house highlighting the salient achievements and activities of the institute and conveyed his good wishes to all for further strengthening the sheep research development programs. The chief guest addressed the august gathering with words of praise on achievements of the institute, transfer of technologies to the sheep farmers even at distance places of rural areas. He marked the Avishan (Prolific crossbred ewe) as boon for the farmers in future to double their income and called upon the scientists to work with farmers in problems solving orientation to achieve and establishment of newer dimensions of commercial sheep farming. He appreciated the efforts for reviving of rabbit unit for promotion source of income of the farmers of the region. Sh R. P. Singh, Special guest of day showed his satisfaction on different activities and congratulated the director especially by involving the farmers to share their problems and putting efforts to solve them. He motivated scientists and farmers to work together to form the chain of farmers in dissemination and transfer of technologies so as the mission of doubling the farmers income can be achieved. He assured for conveying the issue of sheep farmers to concerned authorities. Dr. Nagendar Sarma, special guest of the function praised for excellent maintenance of all animal sector and providing clean and green environment to animal research. He focused the importance of quality demand of sheep products including meat, milk and wool and asked the scientists to work with new generation of technologies to cater the need of the same. He also emphasized on value addition of milk and promoting as functional health foods to make dairy sector commercially viable including contribution of milk of small ruminants. The publication on Annual Sheep Rearing Calendar and Malpura Sheep Breeders Information bulletin were inaugurated and Awards for mark of Excellency in journalism for promotion of animal husbandry were given. To promote and honor the best workers in the categories of scientist, technical and supporting staff were acknowledged. The dais of the function shared by all the above dignitaries along with, Dr. A. Sahu, HoD, Animal Nutrion, Dr Raghvendar Singh, HoD, Physiology and Biochemistry and Progame Coordinator and Sh Suresh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer. Dr L.R. Gurjar, and Dr. Gouri Jairath were associated with stage coordination activities. The vote of thanks was given by Sh. Suresh Kumar and program was ended after the National Anthem.
