BackHands-on-training on “Oestrus Synchronization and Artificial Insemination in Sheep” Inaugurated at ICAR-CSWRI on 16th June 2017
A Seven-days hands-on-training on “Oestrus Synchronization and Artificial Insemination in Sheep” was inaugurated on 16th June, 2017 at ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar. The program is sponsored by Director, Administration and Development, Animal Husbandry Department, Lucknow (U.P). Eleven veterinary officers from Uttar Pradesh registered for training. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. Arun K. Tomar, Acting Director of the institute and was attended by heads of various divisions, In-charges, Scientists and technical staffs. Dr. Davendra Kumar, Course coordinator outlined the course contents and instructed that the training is aimed at hands-on-training on the practical aspects of oestrus synchronization and artificial insemination in sheep in the farmers’ flock. In addition the trainees will learn about different laboratory techniques including semen collection, evaluation, processing, short-term storage, semen evaluation and AI. The Director in his speech highlighted the importance and economic benefits of the training to the sheep farmers. He also urged the participants to disseminate the techniques at their respective places. The training programme is Co-coordinated by Dr. Sanghratna and Dr. Krishnappa.
