Back Farmers Gosthi cum Distribution of Elite Male Germplasm of Sheep & Goat to Tribal farmers of Dungarpur District of Rajasthan
Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar organized a Tribal Farmers Gosthi cum Distribution of Elite male Germplasm of Sheep & Goat to Tribal farmers on 16th September, 2016 at Ambada Tribal village of Galiyakot Block of Dungarpur District of Rajasthan under Tribal Sub - Plan project.
Smt. Anita Katara, Member of Legislative Assembly, Rajasthan was the Chief Guest. She inaugurated the Farmers Gosthi cum Distribution of Elite male Germplasm of Sheep & Goat to Tribal’s on 16th September, 2016. Hon`ble Shri Surender Kumar Ji, Solanki, District Collector, Dungarpur, Rajasthan was the Guest of honour of the function and Hon`ble Dr. S.M.K. Naqvi, Director, CSWRI, Avikanagar presided the function.
Chief Guest while addressing the gathering of tribal farmers emphasized the need of adaptation of scientific technologies in the live stock and Agricultural sector for the development which in turn impacts the socio - economic status and lively hood of the poor tribal population of the state.
On this occasion, Hon`ble District Collector, Dungarpur reiterated the use of developmental schemes launched by the government for the holistic development of tribal peoples. He encouraged them to come forward and take full advantage of the schemes launched by the Government of India as well as Government of Rajasthan.
Hon`ble Director, CSWRI, Avikanagar reiterated the use of technologies developed by the Central Sheep & Wool Research Institute , Avikanagar for the overall improvement in the productivity of small ruminants of tribal’s of Dungarpur District of Rajasthan. He encouraged them to come forward and take full advantage of Tribal Sub - Plan project.
The participant farmers of Ambada Gram Panchayat of Galiyakot Block and Tribal Widows of Vardha Gram Panchayat of Sagwara Block of Dungarpur District of Rajasthan were provided elite male germplasm of Sheep (15), Goat (10), improved varieties of fruits seedling (195), Veterinary Medicines Kits (200), Mineral Mixture (260 kg) & Pelleted Concentrate Feed (1300 kg) by the dignitaries of the function under TSP Project.
The dignitaries of the function also planted improved varieties of fruit plants at tribal farmer’s field. About 310 tribal farmers participated in this program including tribal women.
