BackParticipation of Tribal Farmers of Dungarpur District in National Sheep & Kishan Mela
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar organized a National Sheep & Kishan Mela on 28th March, 2016 at CSWRI, Avikanagar. The hon`ble Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi was the Chief Guest & inaugurated the National Sheep and Farmers Fair organized at ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar on 28th March, 2016. Shri Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria, Member of Parliament (Tonk - Sawarimadhopur), Shri Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary, MLA (Malpura -Todaraishing) & Dr. H Rahamaan DDG (AS) were the special invitees for this function & addressed the gathering. Dr. S.M.K. Naqvi, Director, CSWRI Avikanagar presided the function.
The 60 tribal farmers of different tribal village of Sagwara Block of Dungarpur District of Rajasthan participated in this program including 20 tribal women farmers. There tribal farmers also visited at various exhibition stalls on this occasion and they were exposed by the latest technologies of Agricultural, Animals & Veterinary Science to enhance their awareness for latest technologies.
On this occasion improved small sized agricultural tools & Fodder bajra seed were provided to the Tribal farmers under the TSP Project. Total 60 tribal beneficiaries including women were benefited by this program. Tribal Farmers also participated in the Kishan Gosthy organized at this occasion. A total of 60 tribal farmers participated in the Gosthy & tribal farmers were encouraged in the Gosthy to use improved technologies of small ruminant production to improve their socio- economic status and livelihood.
