BackExposure Visit of differently able trainees at ICAR-NTRS (CSWRI), Garsa
An exposure visit cum training of differently able trainees was imparted at ICAR-North Temperate Regional Station (CSWRI), Garsa on December 22, 2015. The training entitled “Skill training programme for persons with disabilities on sheep husbandry” from November 30 to December 29, 2015 is being organised for people with disabilities by Composite Regional Centre of Pinnacle Auxiliary Services for Handicapped (Ministry of Social Justice and empowerment, GOI), VPO. Kanaid, Sundar Nagar, Mandi (H.P.). A group of 35 trainees (including 20 women participants) participated in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Om Hari Chaturvedi, Acting Head, ICAR-NTRS, discussed the advantages of scientific management in sheep husbandry, with special emphasis on feeding of sheep and goat. He also explained formulation of good quality feed at farmers’ door itself from locally available feed ingredients. Dr. Sita Ram Sharma, Senior Scientist, discussed on the diseases of sheep and their preventive measures. He also answered to the queries from participants on health related problems of animals. Dr. Debabrata Sethi, scientist, briefed the participants on the availability of good quality ram at the centre. He conducted visit of the trainees at sheep sector and feed technology unit of the centre and discussed on management of sheep in details.
