BackThree days study cum exposure visit of Veterinary officers (Odisha Govt.) to SRRC, Mannavanur from 29th – 31st October 2015



A team of ten Veterinary Officers from Govt. of Odisha have visited SRRC, ICAR-CSWRI, Mannavanur for three days study cum exposure visit to from 29.10.2015 to 31.10.2015. The programme was sponsored by Veterinary Officers Training Institute, Bhubaneswar under National Livestock Mission, Govt. of India. The three days programme included orientation lectures on breeding, nutrition, health care, reproduction, physiology, biotechnology, economics and transfer of technology related to sheep, wool processing, fodder production, and visit to labs and livestock farms at Madurai. During the programme veterinary officers also exposed to the experiences of experts from Veterinary college and Research Institute, Tirunelveli and VUTRC-TANUVAS, Dindigul, about emerging diseases and marketing practices followed at different livestock sectors.  In three days of training-cum-exposure visit, the officers showed their keen interest in marketing, animal breeding protocol, wool processing, fodder production and conservation aspects. The group also visited the adopted villages and interacted with the farmers of Madurai. The officer In-charge SRRC, Mannavanur has briefly explained the importance of sheep in different areas; various technologies developed by CSWRI and narrated sheep as a future animal. The training-cum-exposure visit was organized and coordinated by In-charge,TOT and In-charge, Sheep section of the institute.
