BackCompletion of skill development programme for rural women artisans organized at CSWRI

The three months training programme sponsored by Central Wool Development Board Jodhpur, Ministry of Textile, GOI, New Delhi was conducted by the Institute and the closing ceremony was organized on 30th March, 2015. The main objectives of the programme is to develop the skill of the rural women artisans and also to train the participants on various aspects of wool processing and product development. Incharge TMTC Division and Principal Investigator of the project, Dr. Ajay Kumar while welcoming the guests and participants briefed the house about the objectives, specialities and importance of the CWDB sponsored skill development project. On this occasion, the chief guest and Director of the institute, Dr. S. M. K. Naqvi remarked that such training will be helpful to society by women empowerment and suggested participant to make self-help group and take this opportunity of self-employment by utilizing local wool into valuable products through their improved skills. He also ensured to extend all support to them to start up the activities. The participant appreciated the training programme and demanded for tools making various woollen products. They also requested for availability of fine wool for better quality handicraft production and marketing facilities in local and state level Fairs.
