BackTraining programme on “Demonstration of Oestrus Synchronization and Artificial Insemination in Sheep” at ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar conducted from 18-02-2015 to 24-02-2015
A week long training programme on “Demonstration of Oestrus Synchronization and Artificial Insemination in Sheep” was organized for Veterinary Officers of Uttarakhand and Rajasthan at ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute, Avikanagarfrom 18.02.2015 to 24.02.2015. Various facets of this comprehensive technology were designed, researched and standardized indigenously, considering the cost and simplicity to use at farmers flock in the field area by the scientists of Division of Physiology and Biochemistry. The Oestrus Synchronization and Artificial Insemination of ewes play a pivotal role to augment wool and mutton production in the country both through genetic improvement and enhanced reproductive efficiency of sheep, and hands-on training improves the confidence level. Every bits of the technology was imparted to all the delegates by hands-on training complementarily at laboratories and at farmers’ flocks in the field in order to achieve comprehensive learning with optimum reproducible efficiency. Participants of the training expressed that the course was more intriguing and have confidence to carry out oestrus synchronization using vaginal sponge and fix-time artificial insemination in sheep. The training was sponsored by Central Wool Development Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.
