A male sheep DM-23 was born on 28.11.2013 at the institute with birth weight of 3.7 kg from a Malpura female after mating with Dumba (a non-descript fat tail sheep) male. This extraordinary animal gained body weight of 29.3 kg at 3 month,45.4 kg at 6 month, 72.0 kg at 12 month and 84.3 kg at 14 month of age. The faster growth of this animal indicates the potential of Dumba sheep in enhancing the mutton production in the country.
