BackAI training program organized at CSWRI
Prof. (Dr.) M. L. Madan, Former DDG, ICAR has visited to the institute on the occasion of the valedictory function of the training on demonstration of oestrus synchronization and artificial insemination in sheep from Aug. 20-26, 2014, as a chief guest. The program has sponsored by Central Wool Development Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and Network Project on Sheep Improvement. Thirteen participants from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan have joined the training program. The certificates were distributed to all the successful participants. Dr. Thirumurgan, Course co-coordinator praised the active participation of the trainees and informed the various practical’s that was conducted during the training. In the presidential address, Dr. S. M. K. Naqvi explained genesis of the AI technique in the small ruminants. He also briefly mentioned the indigenous and cost effective AI techniques developed in the institute. The chief guest has motivated all the participants to disseminate AI technique at grass root level with targeted number of animals. On this occasion Dr. A. Sahoo, Dr. Arun Tomar, Dr. R. Gulyani, Dr. D. B. Shakywar, Dr. Shinde, Prince, etc. was present. The program was coordinated by Er Vinod Kadam, Scientist, Textile division and In-charge HRD section. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Krishnappa, Scientist, Animal Physiology and bio-chemistry division.
Dr Madan visited to all the animal sectors, research laboratories of the divisions along with wool plant and wool manure experiment. He also has distributed the elite rams to farmers during his visit to sector 18. Dr. Arun Tomar, Head, Animal Genetics and Breeding division has organized the program.
