Under Scheduled caste sub-plan of Government of India, Southern Regional Research Centre of ICAR-CSWRI organized a training programme from 18.12.2023 to 22.12.2023 at the Centre located at Mannavanur, Tamil Nadu. In this second SCSP training programme, thirty farmers from Kookal, Pazhamputhur, Puthuputhur, Mannavanur and Pudhukottai participated with zeal. Among them, nine women farmers also participated. This 5- days training programme was planned to give exposure to scientific methods in dairy husbandry, sheep rearing, rabbitry, mushroom, garlic, and potato cultivation in hill-climate. Dr.S.Sivaseelan, Professor & Head, VUTRC (TANUVAS), Madurai, Dr.C.Raveendran&Dr.S. Kumar from HRS (TNAU), Kodaikanal, Dr. N. Vimal Rajkumar, Associate Prof & Head, FTC (TANUVAS), Theni and Dr.K.Kalpana, Assoc.Prof, HCRI (TNAU), Periyakulam have been invited as experts to deliver lecture in the programme. Farmers have got benefitted by learning all scientific aspects of hill-farming and integrated farming practices. At the end of programme, farm implements like prong hoe, crow bar, tarpaulin, raincoat and spade were distributed to all beneficiaries and Dr.P. Thirumurugan, OIC thanked Dr A K Tomar, Director, ICAR-CSWRI for continuously supporting to arrange SCSP trainin at SRRC Mannavanur. Certificates were distributed to all the trainees during the valedictory session on 22.12.2023 after a fruitful interaction & feedback.  Dr. S Jegaveerapandian, in-charge SCSP training have made elaborate arrangements for this 5-days program, and Dr.Pachaiyappan.K., Scientist coordinated the training.
