BackInauguration of AI training program at CSWRI
A training program on demonstration of oestrus synchronization and artificial insemination in sheep from Feb. 11-17, 2014 is inaugurated at the institute on 11.02.14 under the chairmanship of Dr. S. M. K. Naqvi, Director, CSWRI. Participants from Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra have joined the training program which is being sponsored by Central Wool Development Board and Network Project on Sheep Improvement. Dr. Davendra Kumar, Course coordinator, elaborated about activities to be conducted under the program. The program includes theory and practical sessions on ovine reproductive technology, semen collection, semen processing, estrus synchronization and artificial insemination in field, etc. with focus on practical and hands on training. In the presidential address Dr. S. M. K. Naqvi stressed upon importance of the AI technique in the present era. He also briefly explained contribution of CSWRI in the animal reproduction research. On this occasion Dr. L. L. L. Prince, PC Cell, Network Project informed activities of the project. Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Nodal officer CWDB informed activities and future plans of the Board. On this occasion, Drs. A. Sahoo, A. K. Shinde, R.C. Sharma, F.A. Khan, S. C. Sharma, S. K. Sankhyan, O. H. Chaturvedi, P. Thirumurgan, etc. were present. The vote of thanks was proposed by Er. Vinod Kadam, Scientist, TMTC and I/C HRD.
